Please excuse that it took some time to answer your e-mail from Oct., 24., 2006.
With this we would like to confirm the status of the British Association for German Shepherd Dogs as a founding member of the Europa-Union der Vereine für deutsche Schäferhunde (EUSV) in 1968 as well as the Weltunion der Schäferhund-Vereine (WUSV) in 1974.
It took quite some time to find out on which basis -------------- statement and conclusion was drawn. Meanwhile we found out that the mistake occurred already in 1999 when the publication of the special edition of the SV-Zeitung "100 Jahre Deutscher Schäferhund" was prepared. Some of those articles were written by extern writers based on the information given to them by the SV-Hauptgeschäftsstelle. By now we cannot say for sure that this information about the founding member-countries was incomplete or has been transferred incompletely to the article. Anyway this lead to the publication on our website where Great Britain, i.e. the British Association for German Shepherd Dogs, is not listed as a founding member.
We have to formally apologize for that error and we have already corrected the article on our website.
Of course we will send an official e-mail to ----------- in which we state our mistake and we will ask him to stop the publishing of the false fact of the British Association for German Shepherd Dogs not being a founding member of EUSV and WUSV.
