BAGSD VPG Schutzhund Panel

 

Chairman :-   Mr. Eric Roberts who is very experienced as a VPG   judge.   He served his judging apprenticeship under foreign judges with a final accompaniment with Herr Walter Hoffman SV in Germany. He is also a Kennel Club championship working trial judge and has been a competitor at the WUSV World Championships in Belgium and Italy and an FCI team member in 2004 and 2005 in France and Holland.

Secretary :-   Mrs. Agnes Crawford has shown her German Shepherds and qualified them in Kennel Club working trials.   She has qualified three dogs to the level of VPG 3 and is a regular competitor on the continent.   She was vice captain of the British FCI team in Holland 2005.   She is manager of a long established veterinary practice in Paisley.

Events Co-ordinator :-   Mr. Stuart Nye is a Kennel Club championship working trial judge.   He has been a competitor at the WUSV World Championships in Belgium 2000, Italy 2003 and an FCI team member in 2004 and 2005 in France and Holland.   He is a regular competitor on the continent.   He is an honorary life member of the Associated Sheep, Police and Army Dog Society.

Press & Publicity Officer :-   Ms. Laura Curran is a government Press Officer and media adviser to the Scottish Executive.   She has bred and shown German Shepherds for many years and has qualified dogs in Kennel Club working trials as well as VPG.

Constitutional & Legal Advisor :-   In addition to the above who are all members of BAGSD, the panel have secured the advisory services of Mr. Ian Lynch LLB DMS.   He is a retired chief superintendent of police now working as Consultant with an International Drinks Company.   He has shown Schnauzers for many years and has also qualified dogs in VPG trials.   He was the first BSA chairman, a position he held for ten years.   He has advised the Home Office, Kennel Club (breed and training clubs) and RSPCA on various dog related legal matters.

The BAGSD VPG membership are all working dog enthusiasts who are also involved in many Kennel
Club activities.

Asko was bred & trained from a puppy by Dorothee & is the 3rd dog dog she has qualified with
at 3 different World Championships!!!

FCI & WUSV World Championships 2008
 

QUALIFYING CRITERIA FOR THE BAGSD TEAM TO GO TO THE
FCI AND WUSV WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR 2008

 

The BAGSDS will hold the Captaincy for 2008 FCI World Championships and will send 3 dogs to the FCI and 2 dogs + reserve to the WUSV 2008!

  1. All dogs MUST BE KENNEL CLUB REGISTERED and identifiable by either tattoo (WUSV regulations up to 2011) or microchip.
  2. Each entrant seeking qualification for the BAGSDS section of the teams must be a fully paid up member of the BAGSDS by the 31st January of the year of the championships and show proof that the dog has or will have a valid passport.
  3. Each entrant must declare that they are seeking qualification solely for the BAGSDS section of the teams.
  4. Each entrant must declare if they are seeking qualification for the FCI, WUSV or both teams.
  5. Entry will be open to any of the 22 FCI recognised working breeds dogs who are qualified VPG3/IPO3.
  6. If the trial is not fully subscribed then the trial will be open to VPG2/IPO2  dogs for selection and then VPG1/IPO1 dogs for examination.
  7. In the case of an imported dog, the handler must have owned the dog for 12 months or have competed at an examination within the preceding 12 months within the U.K. 
  8. The qualifying criteria will take the form of two trials, which will be both FCI and WUSV qualification trials.
  9. Both trials will be compulsory – unless a veterinary letter can be produced.
  10. Each competitor’s highest score from either of these trials will be counted towards their eventual qualification.
  11. Team members must give notice of their intention to participate at the World Championships to the nominated team captain no later than 10 days after the date of the last selection trial.  If no notice is received then the handler with the next highest score will be selected.
  12. The trials will be open to all competitors who are members of affiliated organisations belonging to the FCI or WUSV but only BAGSDS members declaring for the BAGSDS section of the team can be considered for the teams.
  13. Only work-books issued by UK affiliated organisations belonging to the FCI or WUSV will be accepted with a current membership card.
  14.   Work-book, copy pedigree and current membership card must be given to the trial secretary prior to the commencement of the trial.

The BAGSD are proud to announce the appointment of junior judge!

"BAGSD has awarded Mr Phillip Kenyon the status of Junior Judge (VPG). Mr Kenyon is now qualified to judge and award AD, BH, VPG1, 2 & 3 titles at BAGSD club level.

Upon completion of a further accompanyment with an SV "Teaching Judge" after serving a minimum 12 months as a junior judge, Phil will be then able to judge Regional, National and Selection level trials!

Mr Kenyon is a serving police officer in charge of the dog training school for Lancashire Constabulary and has completed his qualifying accompaniments under SV and VVDH judges."

 

The BAGSD are proud to announce the appointment of Mr Thomas Nye (BAGSD Washington branch) as a junior judge!

Thomas has completed the necessary apprenticeship scheme (both in the UK and in Europe) under the following judges; Aad Broekhuizen (Raad Van Beheer, FCI), Rinus Bastiaansen (VVDH), Rene Geens (VVDH), Petra Koenig (SV), Eric Bauwens (VVDH) and Eric Roberts (BAGSD) and has received glowing reports from all!

Thomas is now qualified to judge and award AD, BH, VPG1, 2 & 3 titles at club level.

Upon completion of a further accompanyment with an SV "Teaching Judge" after serving a minimum 12 months as a junior judge, Thomas will be then able to judge Regional, National and Selection level trials!

The BAGSD would also like to announce the acceptance of Mrs Agnes Crawford (BAGSD Stirling branch) as an apprentice judge. Agnes has successfully completed her first accompanyment, with Mr Eric Roberts, November 2006!
